AL BARAKA CONSTRUCTION CO. LLC. is responsible for the safety conditions of the company staff and other people. To avoid these risks, BCC executes training to ensure that safety conditions are adopted and being complied. Occupational Health & Safety Plan of BCC shall bind company staff to apply every official settings, national legal provisions, and construction laws and international standards. BCC shall provide the highest requirements for occupational health and safety. To be able to do that, comprehensive training must be made to ensure the effectiveness of the application of such settings and standards as company seeks this to become our business slogan – achieve accomplishments upon implementing various projects with zero accidents occurred.
Company allocates Occupational Health & Safety Plan program for all its projects. Safety engineers are responsible for reporting the prepared safety plan requirements accurately. In addition to being responsible for safety of all the company staff working under their command, which is also for their own good, safety and health plan engineers shall relay these rules to every official and supervisor whose responsibilities are to announce and implement the safety plan.
Site Engineer’s Responsibilities
Safety engineers of the company shall effectively participate in planning activity in consultation with company staff prior to approval on business safety plan; especially, involving them in analyzing risks of work including many accident to be occurred (for example, trenches works and earthworks, etc.).
Furthermore, supervisors shall apply safety provisions and train and educate them to staff (sessions for staff prior to work for the purpose of planning, works performance and analysis of work risks) known as work safety analysis. They are also responsible for reporting accidents and analyze their causes. Both safety engineer and supervisor shall be responsible for inspecting heavy weight equipment and tools, small devices and lifts.
Engineer of occupational health and safety shall hold a number of meetings with construction works director and sites supervisors in order to discuss and follow up work programming weekly. He shall also hold meetings prior to daily works in order to discuss daily work course, required tools to be used in such work or other; to avoid accident risks and lay out and approve work plan prior to commencing work.
Engineer of occupational health and safety shall provide company and board directors with reports on course of investigation in injuries and accidents occurred, define time when they occurred within work hours and inform the higher administration of that in case of any injuries to any of company staff or in case of any deaths and report this per 24 hours.
Company workers shall be trained and introduced to work site prior to starting work. If any person came late to work site, he would not be allowed to work pending that safety engineer convinced that he is qualified to physically and psychologically commence working.
Approach of Safety Training Shall Include the following:
Company shall conduct training for supervisors on safety prior to commencing work and on their responsibilities; and order the following instructions:
Work site shall be equipped with first aid kit for minor accidents; and a trained person to be appointed and authorized by the region health department at which work conducted for how to use the kit for treatment of work injuries. All workers shall be introduced to place of such kits at work site; and work site shall be equipped with litters for emergency conditions, in addition to a vehicle used as an ambulance and a driver for the project to transport critical injuries to the most nearby hospital for treatment.
Safety engineers shall organize work in order to avoid all risks which may occurred at work site during work implement. Safety official shall conduct routine inspection at work site periodically.
Purpose of such practice is to ensure possibility to make contacts when risks occurred resulting from all chemicals produced or imported. Such information regarding chemicals risks to be informed in order to limelight what is happening both as a device and material used. Such information notification done by a plan on how to deal with such materials in case of comprehensive risks occurred; and such plan ensure informing project users about container and other warns, training them on using such materials; educating them how to store such materials at work site in case of contact to dangerous materials at work sites; and inform persons who use them of such plan. Such procedure shall be included in list of dangerous chemicals required to ensure safety for each worker and from each container of dangerous chemicals at work site, publish warn for user protection, provide users with information and training them on how to deal with dangerous chemicals at their work site during their first task. When a new risk occurred at their work site, users shall be provided with information on any operation implemented, place of current dangerous chemicals and provide a program on risks occurred; and shall be included in list of dangerous chemicals as per standards.
Company shall do supervision to ensure proper dealing with all tools and materials used under product recommendations. Company staff shall be trained properly on using tools; noting that all vehicles and Devices at work site shall be equipped with support warning bells.
Proper selection and usage of personal protective equipment is considered an important element in avoiding injuries relating to work. In any event, personal protective equipment shall provide us with a kind of protection against injuries only when used properly. We understand all requirements of personal protective equipment at our work sites; and we shall appoint and supervise work sites permanently. We also bind workers to wear personal protective equipment for all works at various work sites.
Any given person who gets to a work site shall wear a solid cap; and it shall be suitable for definite kind of risks at work site (i.e. dropping or volatile objects, risk of electric shocks or fire risks)
At work site, some injuries may occurred which are most common to eyes and face resulting from volatile objects, volatile welding sparks, metals, chemicals, gases or radioactive materials). Therefore, staff is bind to wear proper protective equipment to protect face using safety glasses permanently. Gloves also provide safety against different types of risks such as (sharp or solid objects, definite chemicals or electrical objects). Therefore, staff who are in contact with chemicals or harmful materials are well trained on wearing proper personal protective equipment as per product recommendations. We shall equip, promote and honor worker who properly wears gloves when be in contact with any material.
Protection against falling down requires worker to be connected (100%) all the time to a safety belt which shall be worn at all conditions for protection against falling down.
When work to be implemented on a height of 1.8 m, then protective procedures against falling down to be fulfilled 100% as per safety settings which include, but not limited to, safety barrier as it protects those workers who are working on scaffolds from falling down. Staff is well-connected to safety belt around the whole body and with a ring, cables and rope holder for staff protection; in addition to staff training.
Company shall appoint a supervisor who shall approve elevator safety and is responsible for reporting and submit a plan for any elevator at work site.
Generally, daily inspection shall be conducted for brakes, ropes and plexus cables which shall be inspected twice at the morning and prior to usage. All workers shall be provided with instructions on international common hand signals and common hand signals of operations of lifting and climbing.
Electrical devices could be a cause of death or dangerous injury to staff. Therefore, they are protected by ropes from accidental damages, grounding work sites, avoid looseness of electrical connections which may cause damages, binding to burying electrical connections by wire tube insulator through walls, ceils, floors or at entrances, through windows or similar holes.
